Cannes Film Festival Opening Ceremony

Aishwarya Rai walks the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 64th Cannes Film Festival held at Palais des Festivals on Wednesday (May 11) in Cannes, France.

The 37-year-old Bollywood actress recently signed on to play the lead role in director Madhur Bhandarkar�s film Heroine. A formal announcement about the casting news is expected to be made at the festival. Aishwarya replaces Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor, who dropped out of the film due to unhappiness with the script.
